A founding member of MLS, the Galaxy played in MLS Cup finals in 1996, 1999 and 2001 but lost all three. They finally won the MLS Cup in 2002 and 2005. In addition, the Galaxy have won the CONCACAF Champions' Cup in 2000, and the US Open Cup in 2001 and 2005.
