Organized soccer in the Cayman Islands dates to the 1950s. Its governing body, the Cayman Islands Football Association, was founded in 1966 and joined FIFA, soccer's international body, in 1992. The senior team reached the final round of the Caribbean Nations Cup in 1998, its best international result to date.
