Mustang Horses (American Indian Horses or Spanish Horses) were brought to the New World by the Spanish in the 1500s. These were the best horses of that time - a mixture of Barb, Arabian, and Andalusia blood. The native horses that inhabited the North American continent became extinct about 10,000 years ago. 1. Northeast Wisconsin Mustang and Burro Association - A club dedicated to those who have a love of these animals. Includes breed information, horses for sale, forum, award information, and photos.

2. Sorraia Mustang Studbook/Magazine - Information about the Sorraia Mustang and its studbook, including breed magazine. The Sorraia Horse is one of the original Iberian horses from which Colonial Spanish Horses (Mustangs) derived.

3. Southwest Spanish Mustang Association - Formed by breeders who seek to preserve, promote, and enjoy the pure line of Spanish Mustangs. Contains list of breeders, articles, registration information, coat colors, and photos.
4. American Kiger Horse Registry, Inc. - For horses which have one or more ancestors that originated from either the Kiger Herd Management Area or the Riddle Herd Management Area. Includes information about the registry, fees, and classified advertisements.
5. Horse of the Americas (HOA) - An umbrella registry for all Colonial Spanish Horses. The HOA accepts horses from the Spanish Mustang Registry, the American Indian Horse Registry, and other strains identified as Colonial Spanish.
6. Southwest Spanish Mustang Association - A nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of the horses which populated the United States in early colonial times.

8. Steens Mountain Kiger Registry - Registy for the Kiger Mustang from Steens Mountain. Includes a newsletter, FAQ page, and online studbook.
9. Sulphur Horse Registry - Registry founded in 1998 for the purpose of preserving and promoting the Sulphur Springs Mustang and its domestic progeny.
10. The American Indian Horse Registry NEW! - One of the largest registries for Colonial Spanish horse, and some BLM mustangs and ponies. The AIHR has different categories depending on the types of horses registered.
11. The American Mustang and Burro Association, Inc. - Formed in 1998 to collect, record and preserve the pedigrees of American Mustang Horses.
12. The Kiger MesteƱo Association - Registry founded in 1988 to protect and preserve wild Kiger mustangs and the Kiger Colonial Spanish Horse in captivity.
