Alexander of Aphrodisias (the Exegete), fl. c. 200 AD. Hellenistic philosopher of the Peripatetic school, known above all for his commentaries on Aristotle. His philosophy of the intellect, expressed in his On the Soul, was influential on many medieval thinkers. 1.
