This category is for Canadian Scouting. Scouting is an educational movement for young people with over 250,000 members in Canada. Scouting was established in the UK by Lord Baden-Powell 1907 and quickly spread around the world. Earl Grey, the Governor-General of Canada, at the request of Lord Baden-Powell became the first Chief-Scout of Canada in 1910.

In a special ceremony before the Ottawa 67's game against the Mississauga IceDogs on Friday, November 11, scouts from the 1st Manotick, 23rd Ottawa, and 3rd Orleans will present badges to Veterans at centre ice Friday night at the Civic Centre.

12. Scout camp on chopping block - Sarnia Observer - couts Canada's decision to put Camp Chester near here on a list of 20 properties to be sold will be appealled by the local camp committee. To deal with declining enrolment and growing costs, Scouts Canada recently reviewed all of the 260 or so properties it owns in Ontario, including 150-acre Camp Chester on Marthaville Road in Enniskillen Township.

Ontario promotes new mining skills for youth - Parry Sound North Star - The Ontario government is promoting mining by partnering with Scouts Canada on the first ever digital prospecting specialty badge to be used in the Canadian scouting movement, Rick Bartolucci, Ontario Minister of Northern Development and Mines announced today.

43. Scouting movement expands - Brighton Community Press - Scouting is becoming a growing concern in Brighton. The 1st Brighton Scouting program has grown from thirty members in 2003 to fifty-seven strong this year. Brighton councillor Brian Ostrander may have summed up part of the reason for this sudden growth: "One thing you do that's different from when I was a Scout is that you let girls in," said Ostrander.
