The final installment in the Ultima series, Ultima 9: Ascension was released for the PC by Origin Systems in November 1999. Fixes for serious bugs were released in the coming months. This is the only single player Ultima to use a hardware accelerated 3D engine. It is generally thought of by long time fans to be something of a disappointment.
