Peter Finch - British actor, born 28th September 1916, London, died 14th January 1977, Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA, rom a heart attack. One of the finest actors of his generation, winning five BAFTA awards, and receiving two Oscar nominations, [for 'Sunday Bloody Sunday' (1971) and 'Network' (1976)]. Other film roles include 'The Trials of Oscar Wilde' (1960), and Far From the Madding Crowd (1967). He is one of only two actors to have won an Academy Award posthumously - for his role in 'Network' (1976).
