Rex Harrison was born Reginald Harrison in 1908 in Huyton, Cheshire. As an actor, he generally played characters of roguish charm, and was successful in the UK and in Hollywood. Of his many films he is perhaps best known for Blithe Spirit (1941) and My Fair Lady (1964) for which he won an Oscar.
