Joseph Rudyard Kipling was born in Bombay on the 30th December 1865. He was the son of John Lockwood Kipling, a talented artist and Alice one of the gifted MacDonald sisters. In 1907 he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature, the first and youngest English writer of this award.
