Modular structures are designed to be largely built in one location and used in another.

3. Modular Dwellings - Mobile, low cost and functional - a new species of pre-fabricated structures designed by Edgar Blazona.
4. The Futuro House - Finnish architect Matti Suuronen designed this UFO shaped dwelling in 1968, initially for use as a ski-cabin or holiday home. Marc Berting gives a description, photographs and QuickTime movie clips.
5. The Loftcube - Mobile living units, which can be placed on flat roofs by helicopters or cranes, designed by Werner Aisslinger. Pictures and information on available features.
6. Wired News: Need a Building? Just Add Water - Engineers William Crawford and Peter Brewin have devised a "building in a bag" - a sack of cement-impregnated fabric. To erect the structure, all you have to do is add water to the bag and inflate it with air.
